About our Owners, Directors and Staff
The Camp Owners/Landman Family
For over 40 years, the Landman Family has owned and operated
Camp Kennybrook, a coed residential camp located
a mile from Winston
Day Camp. Peter and Carole bought
Camp Kennybrook in 1966 and
their children, Howard and Stacey, were born and raised in the camp
tradition.
The Landman family bought Winston Day Camp in 1999.
Camp Director/Bruce Gamsey
Bruce has been Camp Director of
Winston Day Camp since 1999.
He has
over twenty years of camp administration
experience.
When he is not in camp,
Bruce is a middle school science teacher
in
Brooklyn. Bruce is also state certified in
School Administration
and Supervision.
Over his educational career, Bruce also
taught
elementary school science, health
and physical education for 11
years and
was a school district administrator for a
Brooklyn
school district for two years. For
five years, Bruce was also
the Camp Director
of Camp Haze, a free one-week sleepaway camp
for children who lost family members on September 11th or have
lost a parent to illness. Camp Haze takes place at the end of
August at Camp Kennybrook, Winston's sister camp.
